The Access to Experts Luncheon is YNPN's quarterly lunch series designed to give members an opportunity to enjoy lunch with a professional expert in an intimate group setting. Each luncheon accommodates approximately 10 YNPN members, and allows them to learn from and interact with a business professional, usually themed around different topics.
This month, YNPN is excited to have Kirsten Searer, Chief of Staff and External Relations, participating in Access to Experts. In her position, Searer aids the district superintendent in overseeing major projects, managing staff, representing the school district in the community and bridging new partnerships to benefit the 300,000-plus students and 35,000-plus employees in the Clark County School District. Kirsten joined CCSD in 2011. Prior to joining CCSD, she was the director of public relations and communications for the Grand Canyon Skywalk. Searer also served as a communications director for the 2008 Obama campaign and she began working in Las Vegas in 2004 as a reporter for the Las Vegas Sun.
Because of her extensive experience in communications and public relations, Searer will discuss the difficult skill of navigating public affairs and crises management. Learning how to manage communication--and respond to things that get communicated when we don't want them to be--is a skill that can benefit any non-profit professional. RSVP today to make sure you are a part of this important conversation!
