As mass retirement of nonprofit executive directors and senior management in the Las Vegas Valley occurs in the next 5-10 years, there will be great opportunity to fill those roles. Learn what young emerging leaders should be doing to prepare to take on those roles and what the community at large can do to advocate for home grown leadership.
Our featured speaker Rae Lathrop, is no stranger to the history of Southern Nevada's nonprofit community. Throughout her career, Rae has maintained an active community role by serving on multiple nonprofit boards and committees, which includes being a founding board member of the Southern Nevada Chapter of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, Director for ImpactNV, Director for the Nevada Housing Coalition, and member of the Board of Ordained Ministry for the Desert Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Interviewing Rae is former YNPN Southern Nevada Co-Chair, Patricia Haddad. A self-proclaimed Las Vegas native, Patricia cares deeply about how public education and workforce development impact the future success of the Valley. She manages community impact initiatives for Opportunity 180 where she helps create systems to increase access to high quality public school for all kids. She is involved with her neighborhood association in Downtown Las Vegas. Patricia has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Special Education of Children with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders.
