Access to Experts - A Nonprofit Lens on Black Lives Matter

In the last few months, we've witnessed one of the largest civil rights movements around the world as communities everywhere fight for racial justice as part of the Black Lives Matter movement. During this dynamic shift toward racial justice and equity, nonprofits can be courageous in addressing, advocating for, and leading the way to racial justice and equity within their own organizations and communities in an even more powerful way.

Please join us for a Zoom Luncheon on Tuesday, August 11, at 12-1PM PST, with Tricia McLaurin, Director of Human Resources for The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

We will be discussing:
  • The effects of the Black Lives Matter movement on the nonprofit sector
  • Creating more opportunities for reflection and belonging inside nonprofit organizations
  • Steps that can be taken to be more inclusive in hiring practices
  • Creating an environment of openness and change for nonprofit employees
  • Ways to educate employees about internal bias
